The beauty pageant community mourns the loss of Rinky Chakma, who proudly represented Tripura in the 2017 Femina Miss India competition. Chakma’s life was tragically cut short after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Initially diagnosed with a Malignant Phyllodes Tumor, Chakma underwent surgery in hopes of overcoming the disease. Unfortunately, the cancer spread, affecting her lungs and brain. Her determination and spirit inspired many, with friends and the modeling industry coming together to provide financial support for her medical care.
Chakma’s health declined despite the best efforts of medical professionals. In February 2024, she was hospitalized, ultimately succumbing to her illness. Her passing is a profound loss, leaving behind a legacy of beauty, resilience, and the importance of breast cancer awareness.
