Roshy Augustine, born on January 20, 1969, in Pala, comes from a humble family background. His mother, Leelamma, and father, Augustine Thomas, raised him with values of hard work and dedication. He is currently the Minister of Command Area Development and Irrigation under Pinarayi Vijayan.
