Yarapathineni Srinivasa Rao, a senior leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), is the current MLA and in charge of Gurazala Assembly Constituency. Known for his strong grassroots connections, he has represented Gurazala multiple times, winning in 1994, 2009, 2014, and 2024.
After losing the seat in 2019 to YSR Congress’s Kasu Mahesh Reddy, Rao made a remarkable comeback in the 2024 elections. His victory reaffirmed his influence in Guntur district politics and solidified his role as TDP’s key strategist in Gurazala.
