Family Star Review – Bad Music, Weak Story, Vijay Deverakonda Fans Disappointed

Vijay Deverakonda’s films have become synonymous with high energy and powerful performances. The Family Star, directed by Parasuram Petla, promises to be a wholesome family entertainer. But does this Telugu film live up to its star power and family-friendly claims? Let’s dive in!

Family Star Plot(Spoiler-Free)

The Family Star introduces us to Govardhan (Vijay Deverakonda), a young man with a heart of gold and big dreams. His life takes a series of surprising turns, leading to drama, romance, conflict, and ultimately, a test of his bonds with his family.

  • Joint family struggles: The film centers around the challenges of a large, interconnected family.
  • Financial burdens: Govardhan (Deverakonda) shoulders financial responsibility for his family.
  • Unexpected romance: A wealthy entrepreneur, Indu (Mrunal Thakur) enters Govardhan’s life, leading to both opportunities and complications.
  • Family bonds tested: Conflict and drama test the strength of Govardhan’s relationships within his family.

Pro’s in The Family Star Movie

  • Vijay Deverakonda’s Effort: Even in a subpar film, Deverakonda tries to hold things together with sheer charisma and effort.

Negatives of The Family Star

  • Confused Storytelling: The plot jumps unevenly between tones and feels disjointed.
  • Shallow Emotional Moments: Important scenes meant to draw emotion land with a thud.
  • Predictable Plot: The film follows a predictable path, lacking any genuinely surprising twists.
  • Terrible Songs and BGM: The music actively works against the film, feeling out of place and poorly composed.

Should You Watch It?

Only the most devoted Vijay Deverakonda fans might find something to salvage in The Family Star. With a weak script, jarring shifts in tone, and distractingly bad music, this is a film that wastes its potential.

Final Thoughts

It’s a shame to see Vijay Deverakonda anchored to a film that drags him down. The Family Star tries to do too many things at once and ends up doing none of them well.
