Coolie Movie Review – Cast, Hero, Heroine, Rating: 2.75/5

Coolie comes with high expectations and delivers a mix of highs and lows. The movie initially builds the story for first 20 minutes. The first half keeps the pace lively, offering the right dose of entertainment, adding all charisma and screen presence of Nagarjuna. Scenes of Nagarjuna worked absolutely well and unlocked his potential which all of his previous directors lacked to use. But the second half slows down, making the flow feel draggy at times with cameos of Upendra and others feels paced and less impactful as scenes in second half goes a bit out of track but the climax saved the movie. Climax of Coolie is easily one of greatest climax ever in thalaiva’s career.

Nagarjuna’s entry as the main villain had generated strong buzz, but the character doesn’t hit the intensity fans were hoping for. Rajinikanth, though charming and impactful in his moments, surprisingly feels like a side character rather than the central driving force of the story.

Pooja Hegde’s “Monicaa” song provides a touch of glamour with a notable cleavage shot, yet it lacks the sizzling impact that Kaavaalaa once delivered. Shoubin Shahir mesmerized everyone with his graceful impact. Technically, the film is well-mounted with strong visuals and production value, but the screenplay could have packed more punch to match the star power on screen.

Overall, Coolie is worth the ticket for its entertainment factor, but for many fans, it might feel like a missed opportunity to fully utilise its big names and grand setup. The movie is an above average flick, for Rajini fans its a feast definitely worth a watch. We give a 2.75/5.
