  • KCR’s journey began in 1954, nestled in the village of Chintamadaka, Telangana.

  • KCR’s father, Raghava Rao, was a farmer and landowner in Chintamadaka village, Telangana. He played a vital role in shaping KCR’s early life and instilled in him the values of hard work and social responsibility.
  • KCR’s mother, Venkatamma, was a homemaker and a pillar of support for the family. She is known for her dedication to her children and her strong personality.
  • KCR’s spouse, Shobha Rao, has been a constant source of support for him during his political career. She keeps a quiet profile outside of public life and is very important to their family.
  • K. T. Rama Rao: Their son, also referred to as KT Rama Rao, is a politician who is currently Telangana’s Minister for Urban Development and Municipal Administration. Prior to this, he served as Panchayat Raj and Information Technology Minister.
  • K. Kavitha: Their daughter, who presently serves as a Nizamabad Legislative Council (MLC) member, was a member of parliament for the Nizamabad seat in the Lok Sabha. She is well-known for her social involvement and support of numerous causes.

Political Career of KCR

  • In 1983, KCR became involved in politics by joining the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). From the Siddipet Constituency, he was elected four times (1985–2003) to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly. He was the Andhra Pradesh government’s Minister of Transport and Drought & Relief.
  • To support the creation of a Telangana state on its own, KCR left the TDP in 2001 and founded the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). After more than ten years of leadership, the Telangana agitation resulted in the state’s creation in 2014.
  • KCR was elected as the first Chief Minister of Telangana in 2014. He was re-elected for a second term in 2018. He is a popular leader in Telangana, and he is credited with bringing significant development to the state.

  • House in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad (estimated value: Rs 3.01 crore)

Criminal Case of KCR

  • The exact number of cases against KCR is disputed, with reports ranging from 64 to 67.
  • Out of these, 37 are classified as serious criminal cases, involving charges like attempt to murder, criminal intimidation, and promoting enmity between groups.

    • Attempt to murder (IPC Section 307): This charge stems from a 1985 incident where KCR allegedly attacked a political rival.
    • Promoting enmity between groups (IPC Section 153A): This charge has been leveled against KCR for speeches and actions deemed inflammatory or divisive.
    • Criminal intimidation (IPC Section 506): KCR has been accused of threatening or harassing individuals on multiple occasions.
