Sunrisers Eastern Cape Defended their Title thrashing DSG with a dominant victory.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape did it again. Sunrisers Hyderabad’s sister franchise Sunrisers Eastern Cape secured thier consecutive title in a row in the 2nd season of SA20 premier league. SEC thrashed a 89 run victory over the Durban Super Giants at Newlands Cricket Ground.

Sunrisers opted to bat first by winning the toss. With all the batters displaying sheer dominance over the DSG bowlers, SEC posted a massive 205 in their final game. With T Stubbs 56(30), Tom Abell 55(34). SEC had a good opening with Jordan Hermann and T Abell’s partnership. Later a master class innngs from Captain Aiden Markram and T Stubbs ensured a big total for Sunrisers

Starting the chase with a massive total DSG batters didn’t stand a chance infront of the tournaments best bowling line-up, with all three top bowlers from league coming from SEC- Marco Jansen, Ottneil Baartman and Daniel Worrall. The DSG batters collapsed for a 115 all-out with Marco Jansen grasping a fifer in the final with Worrall and Baartman scalping two wickets each. DSG fought a bit well after the 3 wicket collapse but didn’t last long. With DSG’s power house Klaasen bowled for a duck, SEC confirmed thier victory.

Left-arm pacer Marco Jansen took the final blow claiming a five-wicket haul and sealed the game for his team. Orange army all over the world celebrated their Second Championship.
