Early Life and Education

Born on July 15, 1962, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, to Gujarati parents.
Holds a Civil Engineering Diploma from the Government Polytechnic, Ahmedabad (1982).

Worked professionally as a builder.
Affiliated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a Hindu nationalist organisation.

Initiated political endeavours in Ahmedabad’s municipal bodies.
Elected chairman of the Standing Committee of Memnagar municipality (1995).
Ascended to the presidency of the Memnagar Nagar Palika (1999).
Served as the deputy vice-president of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) (2008-2010).
Elected corporator for Thaltej ward in Ahmedabad (2010-2015).
Appointed chairman of the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) (2015-2017).
First secured a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) seat for the Ghatlodia constituency in 2017.

Inaugurated as the 17th Chief Minister of Gujarat on September 13, 2021.
Re-elected as MLA for Ghatlodia in December 2022, subsequently taking the oath for a second term as Chief Minister on December 12, 2022.
