Roshy Augustine, born on January 20, 1969, in Pala, comes from a humble family background. His mother, Leelamma, and father, Augustine Thomas, raised him with values of hard work and dedication. Roshy is happily married to Rani Thomas and is blessed with two daughters, Ann Maria Roshy and Angel Maria Roshy, as well as a son named Augustine Roshy.

Among his most significant actions were the “Vimochana Padayathra,” a 43-day procession he led in 1995 from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram, and the “Vimochana Yatra,” which he organized in 2001 to raise awareness among Keralans against moral decay, alcoholism, and corruption. He is currently the Minister of Command Area Development and Irrigation under Pinarayi Vijayan.
