Tripura, a state rich in culture and history, has been led by a diverse range of Chief Ministers since India’s independence in 1947. These leaders have shaped Tripura’s political landscape from the early Congress governments that oversaw the state’s formation to the recent multi-party coalitions.   • Sachindra Lal Singh: He served as the Chief Minister from July 1, 1963, to November 1, 1971, representing the Indian National Congress.
  • Prafulla Kumar Das: He was the Chief Minister from November 1, 1971, to March 31, 1977, representing the Indian National Congress.
  • Nripen Chakraborty: He served as the Chief Minister from March 31, 1977, to June 8, 1977, representing the Communist Party of India (Marxist).
  • Radhika Ranjan Gupta: He served as the Chief Minister for a brief period from June 8, 1977, to June 11, 1977, also representing the Communist Party of India (Marxist).
  • Nripen Chakraborty (Second Term): He resumed office and served as Chief Minister from June 11, 1977, to March 17, 1988, representing the Communist Party of India (Marxist).
  • Sudhir Ranjan Majumdar: He was Chief Minister from March 17, 1988, to February 5, 1992, representing the Communist Party of India (Marxist).
