Bengaluru, India – Australian cricket sensation Cameron Green visited the Bangalore Kidney Foundation today, revealing his lifelong struggle with chronic kidney disease and inspiring patients with his resilience.
Green, the dynamic all-rounder who recently joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore team, was diagnosed with a kidney condition at birth. Doctors had given him a life expectancy of just 12 years.
“I was told, ‘I might not live past 10’,” Green shared candidly with patients and staff at the foundation. “But I never let it stop me from chasing my dreams.”
Green’s story resonated deeply with the patients, many facing their challenges with kidney disease. His openness about his condition aimed to raise awareness about chronic kidney disease and the importance of early detection and treatment.
“Chronic kidney disease is often a silent disease,” Green explained. “It’s important to get regular checkups and be aware of the symptoms. If there’s even a small chance others can learn from my story and it helps someone, then coming out and talking about it is worth it.”
Green’s visit brought hope and encouragement to the Bangalore Kidney Foundation. His determination to overcome adversity and excel in his field serves as a powerful example for patients battling chronic illness.
“We are honored to have Cameron Green here today,” said a spokesperson for the Bangalore Kidney Foundation. “His story is a testament to the strength of the human spirit, and his message of hope will resonate with our patients for a long time to come.”
Green’s battle with chronic kidney disease is an ongoing one. However, he remains committed to managing his condition while pursuing his passion for cricket. His visit to the Bangalore Kidney Foundation highlights the importance of awareness, research, and support for those living with chronic kidney disease.
