The Araku Lok Sabha constituency comprises the following seven assembly segments:
Year | Winning Candidate | Party | Margin |
2019 | Goddeti Madhavi | YSRCP | 224,031 votes (20.8%) |
2014 | Kothapalli Geetha | YSRCP | 91,402 votes (9.2%) |
2009 | Kishore Chandra Deo | INC | 134,792 votes (17.7%) |
The next Lok Sabha elections for the Araku seat are scheduled for 2024. The contest is likely to be a close one, with YSRCP looking to retain the seat and other parties aiming to challenge its dominance.
Previously, the TDP had intentions of nominating former MLA Giddi Eswari as the candidate from Paderu. However, it has come to light that after the announcement of former MP Kothapalle Geetha as the Araku Lok Sabha candidate, local BJP leaders are now vying for the Araku Assembly constituency ticket instead of Paderu. This shift in preference is based on considerations of the vote bank and other factors. Meanwhile, the TDP had already confirmed the candidacy of senior TDP leader Siyyari Donnu Dora for the Araku Assembly seat.
In the upcoming 2024 elections for the Araku MP seat, it is difficult to predict with certainty which party will emerge victorious. Factors such as candidate selection, campaign strategies, local issues, and voter sentiment closer to the election will play crucial roles in determining the outcome. Both the TDP and YCP are likely to put forward strong candidates and campaign vigorously for the seat. Ultimately, it will be up to the voters of Araku to decide the winner through their ballots.
