Covidshield: Side Effects and Safety Guidelines

Oxford University and AstraZeneca created Covishield, also known as ChAdOx1 nCoV-19, a viral vector vaccine for COVID-19 prophylaxis. Under license from AstraZeneca, the Serum Institute of India produces it.

The following is a list of typical Covishield side effects

  • edema, pain, or redness where the injection was made
  • High temperature
  • Headache
  • Weary
  • A tense muscle
  • vomiting or feeling queasy
  • Feeling cold
  • Sickness

Most of the time, these side effects are minor and transient, going away in a day or two.

Adverse effects are quite uncommon. But if you encounter any of the following after receiving a vaccination, get medical help right away:

  • breathing difficulties
  • chest ache
  • swelling in the throat and face
  • an extreme case of allergies (anaphylaxis)

Reactions to allergens Although they are uncommon, severe allergic reactions to Covishield can occur. A severe allergic reaction may manifest as breathing difficulties, facial and throat swelling,

Covidshield Safety Guidelines

Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids.

Get enough rest.

You can take paracetamol (acetaminophen) to help relieve pain, fever, or headache.

Do not take any other medications, including herbal remedies, without first checking with your doctor.

If you experience any side effects that concern you, contact your doctor.
