Kundala Nandini, who is originally from Vizag in Andhra Pradesh, first met Pawan Kalyan at the Satyanand Acting Institute. This institute was where Kalyan was undergoing training to prepare for his acting career. Their relationship blossomed, and eventually, the couple decided to get married. They solemnized their marriage in 1997 in the city of Visakhapatnam.
In July 2007, Kalyan initiated divorce proceedings at a family court in Visakhapatnam, asserting that his spouse, Nandini, had deserted him immediately after their wedding. However, Nandini’s attorney contested this allegation. After a year of legal proceedings, their divorce was finalized in August 2008. As part of the settlement, Kalyan paid a one-time alimony amounting to ₹5 crore.
Pawan Kalyan, popular as Power Star in Telugu cinema, has finally achieved his longstanding dream of entering the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly. The actor-turned-politician has seen two failed attempts at winning elections earlier but the 2024 elections finally proved fruitful for Kalyan and his Jana Sena Party.
Nandini and Pawan Kalyan did not, however, have a happy marriage. The actor accused her of abandoning him and their home immediately after marriage, a charge she denied. But by 2001, they did not live together and Kalyan actually moved in with his co-star Renu Desai
