Julakanti Brahmananda Reddy, also known as Brahma Reddy, is the TDP in-charge and MLA of Macherla in Andhra Pradesh’s Palnadu district. Coming from a political family—his parents, Julakanti Nagi Reddy and Julakanti Durgamba, both served as MLAs—he entered politics with strong community ties.
Appointed as TDP in-charge in 2019, Brahma Reddy worked to revive the party’s base by engaging directly with locals and challenging YSRCP’s dominance. His persistence paid off in the 2024 Assembly elections, where he secured 122,413 votes (55.62%), defeating Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy by 33,318 votes, the highest margin in Macherla’s history.
Brahma Reddy’s leadership blends grassroots outreach with strategic campaigning, making him a key figure in TDP’s comeback in the Palnadu region.
