The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) recently appointed Katari Aravinda Yadav as the in-charge for the Kandukur Assembly constituency in Prakasam district. This move, announced in February 2024, underscores the party’s strategy to strengthen its base by introducing new leadership.
Historically, Kandukur politics has been dominated by upper-caste leaders. By selecting a Backwards Class (BC) representative, YSRCP signalled its intent to promote inclusivity and widen its social reach.
As constituency in-charge, Aravinda Yadav is expected to focus on election preparedness, grassroots mobilisation, and coordination between local cadres and state leadership. His appointment is seen as a tactical decision to energise the party’s presence ahead of upcoming elections.
