Mumbai Indians defeat Delhi Capitals in a Nail-bitting last ball Thriller

Bengaluru, M.Chinna Swamy Stadium : The Tata WPL 2024 kick-started off grandly with a fully entertaining and nail-bitting thriller as Mumbai Indians clinch a last ball thriller over Delhi Capitals when 5 runs needed in 1 ball with Sajana taking her team Mumbai Indians to victory with a six in the last ball at Chinna Swamy stadium, Bengaluru.

Grand Opening ceremony: TATA WPL 2024 opening itself saw a huge success with grand celebrations by Indian stars, singers from Bollywood performing on stage. As the inaugural WPL season became a huge success BCCI took immense responsibility in promoting the womens cricket to next level. With every performances entertained the audience. The Captains of all teams mimicing the iconic Sharukh khan pose grabbed everyones attention.

Mumbai Indians won the toss and decided to bowl first. The defending champions led by captain Harmanpreet Kaur restricted the Delhi Capitals with 171-5. The DC batters struggled initially with the bat with opener Shefali Verma falling off early for just 1 run. Then Delhi batted well with performances from captain Lenning. With Batters Alice Capsey 75(53) and Rodrigues 42(24) Delhi posted a good total of 171/5. On the other end Mumbai bowlers Nat Sciver-Brunt and Amelia Kerr scalping two wickets. Shambnim Ismail and Saika Ishaque bowled economically among other bowlers.

The second innings was started of with Matthews falling early, a huge wicket but Yastika was in fine nick and hit some lovely shots. Sciver-Brunt also batted well before she fell for Arundhati Reddy. Then captain Harmanpreet Kaur came out and played a responsible knock and almost took her side home till she fell off the penultimate delivery. Then came the Star of todays night Sajana came out of nowhere and hit a last ball Six when 5 runs were needed of the last ball. This last ball victory litted the Chinnaswamy stadium with huge appreciation and enthusiasm as Mumbai clinch a last ball thriller over Delhi Capitals.
